Our school has been the designated West Berkshire resource for primary school children with a physical disability since 1973. The children from the unit are all assigned places in mainstream classes, where they will spend the majority of their time learning and interacting with their classmates. As with all children in the school every Keevill child is an individual and we work hard to provide support and opportunities to enable each of them to learn, develop and achieve in all aspects of school life.
The Keevill Unit has staff, accommodation and resources to support the needs of the children in the unit. The children are all assigned places in a class and will spend most of their time with their peers. They will however, need to spend some time in the unit for specialist therapy which at times, will be with our designated Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist or Occupational Therapist.
Expectations of effort, behaviour and progress for the children are the same as any other child in the school. There are frequent reviews of progress and targets.
