Return to School
Associate Headteacher: Mrs E Parish
Executive Headteacher: Mrs C Wilson
22 May 2020
We continue to make extensive plans for a possible return to school at the earliest, on June 1st for children of key workers, vulnerable pupils and pupils in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 6. As mentioned, previously, this is highly dependent upon the correct scientific advice provided by the Government.
Thank you to all parents of children in the priority year groups identified by the Government - EYFS, Year 1 and Year 6 for responding to our survey about their return to school. Based on the information you provided we will be re-opening Speenhamland School for the children in those year groups where you have indicated you would like them to return from Wednesday 3rd June 2020.
Please see attachment below for full details along with the Primary behaviour guidelines ..........
Guidance for key worker parents and parents of children with an EHCP or allocated social worker.
Childcare Provision for children of key workers and children with an EHCP and children with a social worker.
In order to maximise our resources and save unnecessary costs the Newbury Academy Trust Schools – Trinity, Fir Tree and Speenhamland will be offering provision at the Trinity School Site only. Speenhamland and Fir Tree Schools will be closed until further notice.
During this time of crisis we will be providing the following:
A room for primary school children staffed by a Primary school colleague for the children to complete the home learning work set.
A room for Secondary school children staffed by a Secondary school colleague for the children to complete the home learning work set on Firefly.
There is no provision for any teaching of children as we are following Government advice on this and social distancing, therefore staff will be working from home during this time unless they are on the supervision rota for the rooms as outlined above.
